Transportation through logistics

Most companies use transport to move their products either from point of origin or to point of consumption and often move the product a number of other times before point of consumption. All of these movements cost money. Within the UK 90% of these movements are completed by HGV vehicles the rest is by rail. The domination of HGV vehicles is very similar when the UK exports to Europe.

This makes road haulage extremely important to most businesses and very costly. Most businesses know the cost but are not normally equipped to improve efficiently and so reduce cost. Your company may have it’s own HGV Vehicle fleet or the company may have a third party contractor completing this part of the operation. Both ways of completing this transportation task have their own good and bad points but universally both are not used to their fullest extent.
